Even if your computer is blazingly fast, it can act slow sometimes, right? Imagine that you are ripping a CD in iTunes while converting a movie for your iPod with Handbrake. Your computer is sure to stop responding, causing you to wait for the processes to finish
while you could be doing
other, more productive, tasks. This type of behavior drives me crazy and I know it does to you too. Then I found Process Lasso. This free application has changed my computer life. No longer do I have to wait, or atleast wait to do something else.
Don't get me wrong, Process Lasso doesn't make your computer faster, it just makes sure that a process doesn't steal your precious CPU. In the case of ripping a CD iTunes would probably be set to "high priority" and thus use as much processing power as it can. If you were also converting a video file for your iPod you would have no hope of doing anything else productive. When you have Process Lasso installed the program basically says, "iTunes you only get 30% of the processor. Handbrake you get 50%. Don't argue we have to keep HIM happy!" So what do I mean by, "Process Lasso doesn't make your computer faster."? What I mean is this: Your computer may not be faster but it will respond to you.
Now that I have Process Lasso installed I can rip a CD, convert a video file, install an application, and type this article without any slowdown. True converting the video file may take longer but the computer still responds to my commands. You have to try it to believe it. In my opinion this should be installed on every machine. It's very helpful if you have a slower computer like today's netbooks. Process Lasso breathes new life into your old computer.
