dimensions range from being extremely small like the shuffle to a
moderate size like the iTouch. Each of these iPods has various
features depending on the size. For
example while the iPod shuffle is very small because it has no video
displays what-so-ever. So make sure to take in consideration the
features the iPod comes along with as well as the overall size.
So what are the exact iPod Dimensions? Here is a list in order from
smallest to largest.
iPod Shuffle: The smallest of the bunch.
This is by far the smallest iPod of the bunch. It's actually touted as
the smallest mp3 player in the world. It has a height of 1.8 inches
and a width of 0.7 inches. The total depth of the iPod shuffle is also
only 0.3 inches. If I had to put it to a relative size I would say
it's not much bigger than a stick of gum.
iPod Nano: Slightly larger than the shuffle.
The iPod Nano is a quite a bit larger than the iPod shuffle due to the
fact it has a LCD screen. The iPod Nano height is 3.6inches with a
width of 1.5 inches. The depth is approximately 0.24 inches. Although
larger than the iPod shuffle the iPod Nano is still very small.
iPod Classic: Bigger than the Nano but has more features.
The iPod classic is larger than the prior two iPods. I would describe
the size of this iPod as being "medium". The iPod classic height is
4.1 inches with a width of 2.4 inches. The total depth of the product
is 0.41 inches.
iPod touch: Biggest iPod with a much larger LCD screen.
Like the classic, the iPod touch is a medium sized music player. The
iPod touch height is 4.3 inches with a width of 2.4 inches. The total
depth of the product is 0.44 inches.
One thing in common with the iPod dimensions is that the larger the
iPod the bigger the LCD screen. So depending if you just want a simple
mp3 player like the shuffle or a full blown media center like the iPod
touch it's going to vary greatly in size.
Some recommendations would be to use the smaller iPod's such as the
Nano and Shuffle during physical activity, exercise, on-the-go, or
using discretely. The larger iPods with the bigger LCD screens such as
the Touch are great for long flights or just full blown mobile
entertainment.
